SAP DOES publish a price, found 2026-09-02 by clicking the page's own "View pricing options" button — this record previously said Not recorded, which was wrong. Under "Plans and pricing" (tab: "Buy as a customer") the Joule base plan shows "MONTHLY PRICE USD 0.00", "In blocks of 1 Flat Fee", "Contract duration 1 to 3 years", "Auto-renewal", with a "Buy now" button and a "See all pricing details" link. It is zero-cost rather than unpriced, and it is not free-standing: "Prerequisites: An active subscription to an SAP cloud solution that has an integration with Joule." `freemium` rather than `free` because the same page states "More advanced capabilities are available when you upgrade to Joule Premium" — a paid tier above this one, for which no dollar figure is published. THE EARLIER "Not recorded" WAS A LAZY-LOAD ARTEFACT: the section sits below the fold on a page whose body does not render until it is scrolled or its in-page button is clicked, so a fetch — and a browser read that stops at the top — both see nav chrome and conclude nothing is published.

SAP's own Joule base page, "Plans and pricing" section, read in a browser 2026-09-02 after clicking "View pricing options". Quotes in the pricing note are verbatim from that section.

SAP's own page states the packaging outright: Joule Base is "the base set of capabilities included with your SAP cloud subscriptions" — free and activated automatically — and "more advanced capabilities are available when you upgrade to Joule Premium." So a reader does not buy Joule; they get it with an SAP cloud subscription they already hold. This quote was already in the record's own pricing note from 2026-08-31 and had simply never been moved into the field it answers. RE-VERIFIED AT SOURCE 2026-09-02: sap.com/products/artificial-intelligence/joule-base.html LAZY-LOADS ITS BODY, which is worth recording. A first read returned 909 characters of nav and footer chrome with the sentence absent — a false negative that reads exactly like a stale citation. After scrolling to the bottom and back the page renders 3,996 characters and the sentence is present verbatim: "Joule Base is the base set of capabilities included with your SAP cloud subscriptions that enables your teams to navigate SAP systems effortlessly...", the first paragraph under the H1 "Activate Joule across your SAP cloud products for free". Scroll the page before concluding a SAP quote has gone. The same read surfaced a crisper packaging statement further down, under the "Plans and pricing" heading, which corroborates this field independently: "Prerequisites: An active subscription to an SAP cloud solution that has an integration with Joule."
