ByteDance
Chinese technology group behind TikTok, Douyin, CapCut and Lark, and a builder of its own frontier models (the Seed family: Doubao, Seedance, Seedream). Sells AI directly through the Doubao assistant, the Dreamina creative platform, the Coze agent platform and the TRAE coding and work tools; its cloud arm, Volcano Engine (BytePlus outside China), sells the models to businesses under its own brand.

- Total funding
-
Looked for 2026-09-19 and left null: ByteDance publishes no funding total, and the totals that circulate come from aggregators (refused on a company record). The rounds that primary reporting does cover are a decade apart and were never summed by the company.
- Valuation
-
Checked and deliberately left null rather than estimated: five different secondary-market prices were reported within a ~6-month span in 2025-2026 -- a $315B employee buyback (2025-08, per Reuters/Yahoo Finance), revised to $330B two months later, $480B after a November 2025 investor auction, and $550B when General Atlantic began marketing a stake sale in February 2026 -- none of them a primed institutional equity round, each measuring a different mechanism (employee tender, auction clearing price, an asking price for a stake sale). Writing any one of these into
valuationwould read as an ordinary equity valuation everywhere the field is compared, exactly the riskcompany-admission-standard.md§3 already names for a differently-denominated figure (Nous Research's crypto-token valuation). - Employees

About section read 2026-09-19: 'ByteDance ... has over 150,000 employees based out of nearly 120 cities globally.' 'Over' -- a floor, not a count.

-
Yahoo Finance, 2026-09-15, citing The Information: full-year 2025 revenue about $200 billion, up 29%; H1 2026 about $120 billion, up about 30%. Calendar-2025 earned revenue, not a run rate. Not confirmed by ByteDance, which publishes no audited accounts.

Company disclosure · 18 Sep 2026
Dreamina's own homepage (read 2026-09-18) markets Seedance 2.5 (video) and Seedream 5.0 Pro (image) as its core models; TechCrunch (2026-03-26) reports Seedance was "developed by ByteDance's CapCut team" and that generated video can be exported "directly into the CapCut cloud". Admitted as the parent entity ByteDance after the sighted product's own Terms of Service (see the
dreaminaproduct record) split between two ByteDance entities on a US-divestiture-related question the standard does not resolve.
